That Night

June 29 to 30, 2002

When the downtown club closed around 2:30 in the morning, a man Lisa and her friends had met that night offered the group a ride to a house party in an older model maroon Jaguar. The group went to one party, then a second. When Lisa said she was hungry, the driver offered to take her to get food, a short trip. Lisa was never seen again.

That driver was later publicly identified in news reporting as Christopher William Adair. He was interviewed by investigators in the weeks after Lisa disappeared. Police described the driver at the time as a person of interest in the file. He has never been charged, and no one has ever been charged in Lisa's case.

What the public record shows

The Jaguar belonged to Adair's grandmother and was seized and inspected by the RCMP before being released. Court records reported in the press show criminal convictions in the years before and after 2002, including fraud, theft, and assault, among them an assault on a police officer in Saskatchewan in August 2002.

News reporting in late 2024 and early 2025 located Adair living abroad, in the seaside town of Fethiye, Türkiye since 2017, with time also spent in the Philippines. Canadian police sources told reporters he remains a person of interest in Lisa's case.

“I can't … I'm sorry, I don't mean to disrespect your family.” Adair's reported reply when Lisa's mother asked him where her daughter was, as recounted in press coverage of the investigation.
